Our Story - Our Family
Born and raised in Southern California, we were raised in a close family. Our father was a Chief of Police and our mother raised and educated us at home.
In 2006, we moved across the country as teenagers with our family to start a new life as resort owners in the Smoky Mountains, now called Imagination Mountain. Getting older into adulthood, we worked hard in our new life for years. We grew the resort to a nationally recognized, award winning campground. Along side growing our family business, we eventually became local firemen and instructors. We became master firemen and loved being a part of a community service. I suppose service has always been in our blood.
In the mean time, our family grew not only in size but in passion. We knew something new was coming but didn't quite know it yet. We started several ventures, only to have those doors shut eventually.
How did wood working become a part of our story?...
Creative avenues that require working with our hands has always been one of our biggest passions. Our grandfather is a superb woodworker and introduced it to us many years ago.
Before Two Brothers Wood Works began, we started a sawmill business adjacent to our family owned camp-resort on the border of Gatlinburg, TN. We would consistently see beautiful trees being burned in piles and we decided to do something about it. We took a leap and bought the large machinery to take on a sawmill business. After seeing the beauty of the wood, it inspired us. We are guilty of seeing things and saying, "We could easily do that ourselves."
Why South Carolina?
We knew we wanted to move again and had been vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area. We fell in love with coastal Carolina. All while keeping our resort in Gatlinburg, we moved our entire family and our life here, started the woodworking business in early 2020 from the ground up and we are still growing.
But creative passion aside, we believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. That being said, what makes us successful is working as a family. It takes courage and faith to step out and start a business from scratch. Without the strength of our family, we wouldn't be doing what we love.
We love our family, we love our communities, we love our country, we love history, and we love creating beautiful art with the best nature has to offer.
